Summer and Asher is the friendship/romantic pairing between Summer Hathaway and Asher during both Season 2 and 3 of School of Rock. A potential mutual attraction was hinted in the episode, Total Eclipse of the Heart.

Season 2[]
Brilliant Disguise[]
Asher is first seen during the student council meeting for the school dance entertainment decision between DJ Igneous (Clark) and School of Rock. He is seated next to Summer and stares at her as she is telling her gavel joke. He asks her to go to the bathroom before they begin, and while Summer allows him to, seeing Freddy and Kale interacting together made Summer change her mind and he sat down the second she told him to. As Clark is making his argument, Asher struggles to stay the whole meeting, and Summer is concerned for him when he looks to be in pain.
I Put a Spell on You[]
While trying to buy a cupcake from Tomika, Asher hears Summer scream and when she runs up to both him and Tomika, he asks Summer if she's okay before asking anything else.
Total Eclipse of the Heart[]
In order for Summer to get away from Freddy and Kale acting like a couple, she uses Asher as a getaway when he comes down the hallway and says "You were looking for me, right?" and eagerly pulls him away to the boys' bathroom, stating that what he said is what they planned to do. Later, while Summer is with Freddy and Kale, who were making a quilt from garbage, Asher offers to have her come with him to the bathroom since she was interested last time, and congratulates her when her rash disappears. Summer lets him go by himself and watches Asher as he leaves. Later, while Summer is using the telescope on the school roof, Asher comes to see her and says that he hoped she was up there. They share a laugh after Summer asks Asher if he needs to go to bathroom again, to which he states that he went before coming to the roof. She tells him that while she's thought about astronomy, she has only really noticed the sky tonight, and when Summer asks him if he understands, Asher says that he does and they share a smile and stare at each other. Summer offers to let him look at the telescope and while she explains the color of the moon, he smiles at her. Shortly after that, Asher notices that Summer is cold and gives her his jacket to warm her up, and both were unaware of Freddy coming to the roof at that moment. As Freddy went back into the school, the episode ends with Summer telling Asher about the eclipse and blood moon while he looks through a telescope to see it.

(Summer then sees Kale whisper something in Freddy's ear and rapidly bangs her gavel against its stand in jealousy.)

(Summer is sitting with Freddy and Kale while they are knitting their quilt and filling Summer in on what happened before then.)
Asher: "Hey, Summer. I have to go to the bathroom again. You seemed real interested last time, so I figured I'd ask you again in case you want to come with...?"
Summer: (looks to her arm and doesn't see a rash) "Hey, my rash is gone!"
Asher: "Uh, congratulations!"
Summer: "I'm actually fine staying here. Thanks Asher. You can go to the bathroom on your own."
(At the end of the episode, Summer is on the roof, looking at the Blood Moon. Asher comes up to the roof and finds her there.)
Summer: "Oh hey!"
Asher: "Hey, Summer. I was hoping you'd be up here."
Summer: "I'm just marveling at the wonders of the cosmos...did you have to go to the bathroom again?"
Asher: "No, I went before I came up here."
Summer: "...I've thought a lot about astronomy, but tonight it's like I've noticed the sky for the first time, y'know what I mean?"
Asher: (looks at Summer with a smile) "...I think I know exactly what you mean."
Summer: "Here, you look. You can see the moon is almost completely blocked out by the earth, making it look like it disappeared."
(Asher smiles at Summer while she stares at the stars. Summer then rubs her arms to show that she was cold and Asher quickly reacted by giving Summer his jacket to warm her up. Unbeknownst to them, Freddy saw the gesture and went back into the school heartbroken that Summer was with Asher.)
Summer: "The red color comes from light passing through the earth's atmosphere, it's the same reason that sunsets are red. Isn't that amazing?"
Asher: "Yeah."
